For the love of God, buy new u-bolts if/when you do remove the block. Something else to keep in mind, the roof does have a slight downward taper as it moves towards the back of the vehicle. WebDrive the bearing into the housing until the tool bottoms against the tube. Lubricate the seal lip and install the seal with a suitable seal driver. Make sure the seal is fully seated in the axle tube. Install the axle shaft. Fill the rear axle with the correct lubricant. Lower the vehicle.

But they cancelled the TSB very shortly afterwards, because too many customers had driveline vibration problems that the Ford engineers could not fix. There were other TSBs to replace the so-called 4" spacer blocks with 2" blocks, and those worked fine.
