WebJul 28, 2024 · Xanthelasmas are types of xanthomas, which are deposits of lipids, such as triglycerides and cholesterol, that can accumulate under the skin. Xanthomas can appear anywhere in the body, including the ankles, neck, and shoulders. Xanthelasmas occur when these deposits appear around the eyelids.
